The Loneliness No One Talks About When You're the One Everyone Depends On
You’re not selfish for wanting more. You’re just human.
Let’s say it out loud:
You’re surrounded by people all day, and still feel alone.
You lead the team, show up for your family, manage all the logistics, and still remember everyone’s birthday… but inside, you’re tired. Not just “I need a nap” tired, but soul-deep worn out from being the one who always has it together.
And here’s the hard part: no one sees it. Because you’re so good at making it look easy.
What no one tells you:
The most successful women are often the loneliest, because you’ve trained yourself to shrink your needs to fit the roles you play.
You’ve been told:
- “You’re so strong.”
- “I don’t know how you do it all.”
- “You’ve built such a beautiful life.”
And yes, you have.
But when was the last time you felt held?
Let’s be honest:
- You want to be deeply seen, not just for what you do, but for who you are.
- You want to stop performing your way through the day and actually feel present.
- You want rest without guilt, clarity without chaos, success without sacrificing yourself.
Here’s what you can do (and none of it includes overhauling your life overnight):
- Start saying the quiet things out loud.
Find someone you can be radically honest with (a coach, a friend, even a journal). Saying “I’m not okay” is a form of strength. - Stop wearing ‘strong’ like armor.
Let yourself receive. Ask for help. Let people show up for you, even if you could do it yourself. - Schedule space, not just tasks.
Put “do nothing” on your calendar. Give yourself unstructured time, and honor it.
You are not too much.
You are just used to not being enough for yourself.
And that can change, without burning it all down.
With Heart,
